Gum Treatment in Petaling Jaya

Professional gum treatment and cleaning

Healthy gums are the foundation every beautiful smile is built on. Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults — yet in its early stages it is quiet, painless, and completely treatable. Our gum treatment is about catching and reversing it before it costs you your teeth.

Why professional gum care matters

Bleeding gums, bad breath and receding gumlines are not things to live with or wait out. Left alone, the infection works its way down to the bone that holds your teeth in place. Home brushing cannot reach beneath the gumline where the problem lives — professional scaling and root planing can. We treat the cause, not just the symptoms, so the disease is stopped rather than simply masked.

How we make sure it's done right

Every case starts with a full periodontal assessment — measuring, not guessing — so we know exactly where the disease is active. We then clean thoroughly and gently, take the time to coach you on the home care that keeps it away, and set a recall rhythm that fits your risk. Unhurried, meticulous, and focused on keeping your natural teeth for life.

Common questions about gum treatment

Are bleeding gums normal?

No. Healthy gums do not bleed when you brush or floss. Bleeding is the earliest and most reliable sign of inflammation, and it is the stage at which the problem is easiest to reverse. Treating it as normal is how early gum disease quietly becomes the advanced kind.

Can gum disease be reversed?

Gingivitis — the early, inflammation-only stage — is fully reversible with thorough cleaning and better home care. Once it progresses to periodontitis and bone around the teeth has been lost, that bone does not grow back on its own. Treatment then shifts to halting the damage and holding the position, which is why catching it early genuinely matters.

How many appointments will I need?

Mild cases are often handled in one or two visits. More advanced disease is usually treated in stages across several appointments, followed by a review to measure whether the gums have responded. Ongoing maintenance visits at intervals set by your risk level are part of the treatment, not an optional extra.

Does gum treatment hurt?

Deeper cleaning below the gumline is carried out under local anaesthetic where needed, so the appointment should be comfortable. Some tenderness and sensitivity for a few days afterwards is common as the gums heal and tighten.

Is gum disease linked to other health problems?

Research has consistently associated advanced gum disease with cardiovascular disease, poorly controlled diabetes and adverse pregnancy outcomes. The mouth is not sealed off from the rest of the body, and chronic inflammation in it is worth taking seriously for reasons beyond your teeth.
